Geo-Exchange

Geo-exchange is at the core of the heating and cooling system at Bloor and The East Mall, providing all of the cooling for the two towers and about two-thirds of the space heating and domestic hot water. The geo-exchange borefield consists of 144 boreholes at 850 ft depth, maximizing the space available beneath the parking garage footprint. Paired with heat pumps in the building, this system allows for significant energy savings and GHG emissions reductions. The two towers are served by one common geo-exchange system.
